Denbigh Harriers  Weekly Report 29 – 10- 16

The 34th Snowdonia Marathon had over 2000 finishers on this course that is billed as one of the toughest marathons in the UK.  The route circles 26.2 miles round the Snowdon massif  and climbs a massive 2700ft making this marathon the equivalent of running 29 miles on the flat. This makes the times of Denbigh Harriers Emma Collins and Vic Belshaw even more impressive. Emma won the 1st Welsh lady master prize and Vic picked up the bronze male master medal. Competing in her first marathon on her birthday Dawn Marshall kept to her schedule and made her training pay off. John Worthington had missed much of his training through injury and had ran no further than 16 miles in training making his result a testament to his determination.
