Denbigh Harriers Weekly Report 20/4/19

Three Denbigh Harriers turned out for the third race in the Tuesday Evening Fell Running Series.  This race runs up Moel Lus, a little mountain behind Penmaenmawr. It was a 3.2 mile race with around 900 ft of ascent in the first mile then a fast traverse and ascent to the finish. These short fell races are well attended with 131 finishers again this week. David Baugh was first Harrier home, narrowly missing out on the M50 prize on the finishing line. Second to finish was daughter Katy running strongly,  considering she’d run a 17 mile fell race at the weekend. She was followed by Menai Baugh running over two minutes faster than last year and breaking the F60 record.

There were 345 runners who enjoyed the sunshine at the Llandudno Easter 5k Promenade Dash including ten Denbigh Harriers. The conditions were perfect with hardly and breeze and the flat course resulted in many season best times and a personal best. The women’s team took the team prize on the day in a strong field. Emma Collins was 6th woman overall and was over two minutes clear or the second runner in the F55 category which she continues to dominate. David Baugh won the M55 category with a season’s best time with Menai Baugh winning the F60 category with a PB. Philip Hayes had run the Conwy PArkrun before the race in 24:01 so was please with a season’s best time.
