Thought the xc dates were worth including in the next newsletter. Unusual for the season to start in Bangor....maybe they think it will be drier. Dates taken from Abergele H website, so hope they are right.

I'd just like to invite runners from your club to take part in our weekly free of charge 5k run in Halewood.

All they need to do is register on www.bugruns.org.uk and then turn up on the day. They take place every Saturday at 1.00 pm.

The course is accurately measured and certified and results are usually put on the website on the evening of the race. There are also spot prizes available and refreshments after the run.

The next run is Saturday 4th February, hopefully see some of you there.

In order to avoid a clash with the Mold Food Fair event, the above Flintshire 10km road race has now changed their date to Sunday 14th October.

The regional half marathon championship 2012 is being held within the Wrexham half marathon on 19th February next which has an entry limit of 500 runners.

Peter Norman has agreed to reserve 50 places for the Regional championships, but has told me that so far he has 250 entries and 25 of those are in the champs.

Can you please pass on to your members that they should enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as once the 500 limit is reached they would be too late to be included.

Please also bear in mind that in 2011, entries were returned for that very reason and obviously there were no entries on the day.

Entry forms can be downloaded HERE

Also, in line with the agreed policy at the last meeting of N.W.R.A.C., I am attaching my road running report, so that if you have any queries, please let me know before the meeting.

Message from Ian - Race Director
San Domenico Road Runners

Your members who are doing a spring marathon may be interested in entering our
20 mile road race that is four weeks prior to the London Marathon.

In the last 5 years we have had entries from as far away as Yorkshire, London,
Devon and Edinburgh. The 2011 race was a record for us with 342 entrants, so we
are working hard to make the 2012 race even better. As in previous years we
intend the race memento to be a technical wicking t-shirt, as well as providing
gels and sports drinks at key water stations.

We would be grateful if you could circulate the race information to your members
and we look forward to seeing some of your club members there.

How to enter:

By post

Using this postal entry form (178Kb PDF) - no need for SAE as race numbers are to be picked up on the day.

Online

available via the ‘Fabian4’ website:

I am writing from a children's charity called The Outward Bound Trust. One of our biggest fundraising events is the London Marathon. I was wondering if anyone in the club would be interested in running in the London Marathon for us. As a Virgin London Marathon charity we have been allocated a large number of places some of which are still available. In return for their commitment, each runner will be sent a running vests, training guides, fundraising tips and advice on diet and nutrition. After the race itself, we invite runners and their supporters to a well-earned post race reception and treat them to a complimentary massage. ( You can visit www.outwardboundtrust.org.uk/marathon for marathon details.)

The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that aims to unlock the potential in young people through discovery and adventure in the wild. The funds that we raise allow as many young people as possible to have the opportunity to engage in adventurous experiences through which they can raise their self-esteem, realise their full potential and achieve more than they ever thought possible. For more information on us you can go to www.outwardbound.org.uk.

If anyone would be interested in running for us could you please have them send an email to marathon@outwardbound.org.uk (it is a regularly monitored email account so we will respond to everyone!) or if we could send you some flyers that you could put out for your members to see please let me know. Thank you.
